Past in Person Course Presentation - Increase healthcare worker knowledge and understanding of serious communicable diseases (smallpox, SARS, MERS, Ebola, novel influenza). Increase understanding of standard and transmission-based infection control procedures. Describe administrative and environmental controls that will decrease the likelihood of inadvertent exposure to infectious bodily fluids to include donning and doffing of PPE, configuration of the ambulance to protect environmental surfaces and facilitate decontamination and disinfection of the vehicle. Describe waste management and post-mission health monitoring. Allow learners to practice the donning and doffing of PPE under the direct supervision of faculty that have experience with transport and management of patients with serious communicable disease.
