NETEC - Online Course - Internal Communication

Description

This course will provide information on communication considerations when a facility is notified they will be receiving a patient with Ebola or other special pathogen. This will include information on communicating with staff, patients already in house, and media by identifying, outlining, and defining elements of a communication plan. At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to: 1. Identify key elements of an internal communication plan relating to care of patients who present with Ebola and other special pathogens of concern. 2. Outline and design key elements of an internal communication plan relating to care of patients who present with Ebola and other special pathogens of concern. This course is intended primarily for healthcare workers and teams in a biocontainment unit environment. Additional medical staff and public health professionals may also find the course to be of benefit. Those individuals may include, but are not limited to, medical and/or nursing staff, administration, education/training leadership, and infection control leadership. Staff specializing in emergency management, communications, specialized clinical areas, laboratory, facilities management and environmental services are also welcome.
